My Christmas Gift Guide 2017

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I love Christmas. It’s my absolute favourite time of year. I love everything about it; the weather, the cosy clothes, the festive songs, the beautiful decorations and most importantly, the gift giving. I’ve always enjoyed giving gifts maybe even more than receiving them. I find the whole idea of shopping for the perfect present something quite magical, and nothing gives me joy than an evening spent surrounded by presents, wrapping paper and ribbons, listening to my favourite Christmas music. Every November, my local city holds a massive Victorian Christmas Market – basically a load of people dress up in Victorian clothing and give out festive cheese and fudge samples… it is absolutely one of the highlights of my year.

I have been keeping an eye out for the best affordable gifts for girls of 2017 and wanted to share some of them with you! It’s a bit of a mixture of things I’ve bought for members of my family and my friends, as well as a couple of things that have been given to me over the past few weeks, in the hopes that it might give you some inspiration is you’re short of ideas.

So without further ado, I present to you my 2017 Christmas Gift Guide!*

*prices correct at time of writing

For the music lover – Reputation by Taylor Swift – £10.99 from HMV

How could this not feature in my gift guide? If you’ve read my review, you’ll know that I love this album A LOT, and I think it would make a great gift for any music lover. It’ll be no surprise to anyone who knows me that I’ve been listening to this gorgeous album on repeat since it was released. Maybe we can have nice things after all!

For the aspiring make up artist – Real Techniques Fresh Faced Favourites – currently £19.99 from Superdrug

I actually ordered this for myself about a month ago because it was on offer at just £7.99. Real Techniques always gets stunning reviews so I think you really can’t go wrong with this set. I have actually been using the brushes for a few weeks now and I love them! Everything about this product is beautiful; the packaging is stunning and the brushes themselves are gorgeous, and definitely giving me super christmas-sy vibes, so definitely check these ones out! A lot of other Real Techniques sets are discounted at the moment at Superdrug so have a look!

For the pamper queen – Baylis & Harding – varying prices

I love buying the Baylis & Harding gift sets. They can be a little over-priced sometimes, but if you shop around you can usually grab yourselves a bargain. The specific set pictured here, which I’ve bought for a friend’s mum, I paid £6.50 for at Tesco. I couldn’t find it online, but it’s definitely worth a trip into the store to pick one up as it is actually currently £18 in Debenhams.

I also feel that Along Came Betty definitely deserves a mention. The brand is only available from Tesco but you can’t go wrong with their gift sets. They’re also cruelty free, which is a definite bonus!

For the caffeine addict – Coco & Lola Travel Mug – £4.99 from Home Sense

I love this shop an awful lot. It’s a really great place to go to find great gifts at great prices. I must admit, the best thing about Home Sense is the candle selection, and I do always love the make up section too, but in terms of Christmas gifts, I think it’s definitely a good idea to hit up the mug section. My go-to gift idea is an extremely instagramable mug filled with several sachets of my favourite hot chocolate, and this time I thought I’d mix it up a bit and go for a travel mug. This particular one was bought for a close friend’s birthday and I don’t see why it couldn’t work as a lovely Christmas gift instead!

For the sweet tooth – chocolate chip cookie mix mason jar – £4.00 from Superdrug

I think this is such a great idea and would make such a brilliant gift – and everyone likes cookies! You can probably get a similar thing elsewhere and I think you could quite definitely make it quite easily as well!

For the bookworm – The Selection series by Kiera Cass – all good book stores

I actually received the first book as a gift and put off reading it for a while as I wasn’t sure it was my type but when I finally started, I realised the saying “don’t trust a book by its cover” really is true. I then went on to buy all of the following books (I have to have the complete collection, of course) and thoroughly enjoyed them just as much as the first! So here I am, definite proof that these books make a good gift!

For a really good friend – Perfume Gift Set – £29 from Hollister

A friend bought this for me and I absolutely adore it, I just couldn’t not include it! I think this is an absolutely perfect gift, the bottles and the gift box are all gorgeous. It is a little bit on the expensive side but I think it’s so worth it for someone special!

For that person who is really difficult to buy for – baubles – varying prices

You just can’t go wrong with a cute bauble. Pretty much everyone has a tree they can decorate every year, and I, personally, always love getting new additions to my bauble collection. The ones pictured here are from Sass & Belle (one of my favourite brands of all time, definitely check it out) and I payed just £2.00 for all 4 at a Christmas Market, but for something more accessible, both Accessorize and Primark do some beautiful ones!
