So this is a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while (and hopefully will do more often in the future) since one of my faves, bethxkate, did a similar one over on her blog… I’m actually writing this in a revision break – I’ve just done an hour of Chemistry! So I think it’s fair enough that I fill you in on that first.
My GCSEs are starting in less than 12 weeks (and I have my language orals mid-April as well) so my posting schedule is going to be a lot more liberal than it has been (not that I’ve ever been very good at posting regularly and sticking to my schedule!) until at least the end of June. At the moment I’m hoping to be able to post once a fortnight, but this might change with coursework/homework deadlines and revision, as that, unfortunately, is my main priority at the moment. I’m even super busy at lunchtimes right now – I have revision sessions or mentoring literally every day – so I’ve had to stop going to all of my music clubs. It’s very stressful, but I have to keep reminding myself that in 17 weeks it’ll all be over! And then I’m going to see Ed Sheeran… and Taylor Swift!
The best thing about year 11, and exams, is definitely going to be finishing them… I’m going to have a massive 12 weeks of summer this year and I absolutely can’t wait! I’m hoping I might be able to get a job, and I’m definitely planning on doing some work experience. Also – lots of time to focus on blogging! Three months of lie-ins! Summer! I can’t wait!
I’ve been stuck in a bit of rut lately, with both my blog and instagram. I’m constantly aware of how long it’s been since I last posted on either, but I feel like I don’t have anything worthy of posting. I find it really hard to keep up a perfect instagram feed, and I’m a serious perfectionist, and I don’t know about you but seeing everyone else’s ridiculously aesthetic posts makes me feel like my account isn’t good enough. I never know what to post, and when I do post anything I feel like it’s not good enough… I’m yet to find the right balance of promoting my blog without coming across as annoying/rude even though that’s technically what my account is for. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I’d love to hear them!
On a completely different note, is anyone else absolutely loving Call the Midwife at the moment? Four important thoughts about this: Poor Trixie, she and Christopher were perfect for each other; I’m so happy Barbara and Tom are back; Nurse Anderson is amazing; Sister Monica Joan is a precious bean and needs to be protected at all costs. If you don’t like Call the Midwife, we can’t be friends.
Finally, on the subject of babies, I’m absolutely loving Louise Pentland – aka Sprinkle of Glitter – right now… Pearl is so adorable! Her weekly blogs are honestly (rather sad to admit, I know) the highlight of my week at the moment. I don’t know what it is but there’s something so relaxing about watching someone else carry out life-stuff. Plus, she started out as a blogger, and is a complete inspiration, and so down to earth! If you don’t watch her videos already, I recommend it!
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post, I feel like it’s been a long time coming! Thank you so much for being so patient with me, I’m very much looking forward to exams being over, and then I’ve got two and a half months off school to focus on my blog!
Lots of love,
Hannah Beth Blogs
