Blogmas Day 1: 2018 Christmas Gift Guide

It’s that time of the year again! Time to start decorating the house, sing Christmas songs and eat way too many mince pies. Oh, and time for the start of another 12 days of Blogmas! I though that this year, I’d kick it off with the big one – the gift guide. Last year, this was my favourite post and I’ve been really looking forward to doing it again, so I’ve been trawling the internet for the past few weeks to find – what I’d classify as – the best affordable Christmas gifts of 2018. So, let’s jump straight in!

For the Beauty Guru

I have a slight obsession with makeup brushes and got a little excited when I found this* real techniques set on Amazon – they’d make a brilliant gift for anyone who’s into makeup and needs a new set of brushes.

Alternatively, I’ve spent the whole of 2018 going on about the Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 palette (seriously, I wrote a whole review about it all the way back in January) but it’s almost a year later now and I am still completely in love with it – I’ve recommended it to all of my friends and they rave about it too, so it would probably be fair to say I think it would make a pretty good present.

Finally, amazon have released this awesome beauty advent calendar this year, and although it’s slightly late to get it in time for the start of advent, it’s got some great beauty products in it, including a full-sized Elemis Pro-Collagen cream and a gorgeous l’Oreal lipstick. You get 24 products for just £30, which I think is a bit of a bargain, so you can pick that up here* – for someone you love, or just as a treat for yourself!

For the Studygrammer

I have been using these Pastel Highlighters* for almost a year now and love the colour range – they really brighten up my notes! I honestly didn’t think they could get any better, until I found the mini versions* on Amazon and they are honestly the cutest things I’ve ever laid my eyes on – straight on my Christmas list!

Typo is one of my favourite shops ever and they sell some of the cutest notebooks and journals ever, you can find them here. They also usually have special offers so you could get one for all of your friends which makes them such good value.

For the Pamper Queen

I was planning on using a LUSH gift set for this section of the post but when I found this Bomb Cosmetics set*, I had to include it because it’s so Christmassy and would make such a perfect gift for any bath bomb lover!

The Body Shop also has bought out a gorgeous range of gifts this year (is anyone really surprised, TBS always slays Christmas) and I particularly love these festive sacks – they come in three different scents and each contains a shower gel, a body scrub, a body butter and a hand cream. Plus, all of the Body Shop’s products are obviously cruelty free so it’s an obvious winner! You can find those here.

For the Sweet-Tooth

Hotel Chocolat has some of the most amazing looking Christmas chocolates including this ‘pick-me-up’ set which I’d love to recieve as a gift. Obviously Hotel Chocolat is a slightly more luxury brand, and it comes with a luxury price tag, but if you are on more of a budget then Superdrug does an impressive range of confectionery and I’m planning on buying this mini sweet jar set for my little brother! They’ve definitely got something for everyone.

This next one is the most expensive gift of the post, and I deliberated on whether to include it or not but when I found out that you could buy an actual Slush Puppie Machine so you can make your own slushies in your own home, I just had to tell you about it. It’s currently only £39.99 on Amazon and you can buy it here* because who wouldn’t want one of these?!

For the Bookworm

Crimes of Grindlewald came out in cinemas in mid-November and they’ve also released the most gorgeous hardback copy of the screenplay which you can find here* – it’s honestly the most stunning book I’ve ever seen and would make the perfect gift for any fan of the Harry Potter franchise. On a similar note, Boots have recently bought out a gorgeous Harry Potter gifting range featuring bath bombs, house themed eyeshadow palettes and makeup bags amogst some other exciting things. My personal favourite gift is these colour changing lipsticks because the whole concept is so magical!

But, if they’re not a Potterhead, this Brontë sister’s box set is stunning and the perfect gift for any classics lover. The set contains four books – Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Villette and at about £35, it’s a little more pricey than the other gifts I’ve featured, but it’s so beautiful I had to include it. You can find it here*.

For the person who’s really difficult to buy for

These zodiac sign mugs from Typo would make the perfect personalised present for anyone – plus they’re currently down to only £4.00 in the sale! They do loads of other cool mugs as well, so there’s something for everyone. I also love to fill my mugs with hot chocolate sachets – my personal favourite is Options, or for a more luxury option, this White Hot Chocolate from Whittard’s is divine.

Another favourite of mine is giving people baubles. Sometimes I attach them to the wrapping for decoration but they can make a lovely gift on their own. If you’ve been around here for a while then you’ll know that Sass & Belle is literally my favourite shop ever and they sell the cutest Christmas decorations. If baubles aren’t what you’re after, there’s some gorgeous wreaths and ornaments and they’re all quite affordable. Have a browse here.

So that concludes the first post of Blogmas! I can’t believe it’s December already, 2018 has gone so fast!
