Blogmas Day 12: My Year in Polaroids

What a year 2018 was. Honestly, I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone! I’ve done some amazing things this year and to celebrate the last day of Blogmas (err, excuse me, where has this month gone?!) I thought I’d share some of my highlights with you… I’ve already done this on my instagram a couple of weeks ago, inspired by one of my fave bloggers Petite Ellie, so I wanted to do this a little differently – through the medium of Polaroids!

If you’ve followed my blog or instagram for a while, you’ll know that earlier this year I took my GCSE exams. Because of this, my 2018 really started after my exams finished, in June. On the evening of my final exam – German – I went to Cardiff with my mum to see Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour. It was my first concert in about 18 months, and it was absolutely unbelievable!

For almost ten years, I’ve been a really really big Taylor Swift fan, but I’ve never had the chance to see her live, but on the 23rd of June, I went to Wembley Stadium to see Taylor’s Reputation Tour. It was everything I expected it to be and so much more, and I just wish I could watch it all over again (oh wait – I can, they’re releasing it on Netflix on New Year’s Day!!!!!!)

img_7691At the end of June, I went to my Year 11 prom. It was an event that I was slightly apprehensive about because quite a few of my friends had decided not to go, but I got all glammed up and had a really good time, although the food wasn’t so great! Everyone looked so amazing and it was lovely to have one last outing together before we all left school.

img_7692In August, my family and I took my nan to Norfolk for a week. It’s an area of the country that none of us had ever visited but I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. We were really lucky with the weather, because it was the middle of a heatwave, which gave lot’s of opportunity for sunbathing, and I also got a lot of reading done too. It was so nice taking my nan to the beach too!

To round of the summer holidays, before I started sixth form, we celebrated my cousin’s wedding in the stunning Welsh countryside. We all got glammed up to celebrate and party, but this photo was taken the next day, with my Irish cousins and aunty, when we had a barbecue in the middle of a valley, in the rain, and it was just lovely to spend time with all of my family.

In October half term, we flew to Sorrento for a week in Italy. I’ve only been to Italy once before, when we went to the North in 2016, so it was lovely to discover a new area. We visited Capri, Pompeii and even walked up Mount Vesuvius which was incredible. I ate so much Italian food, I was basically a gelato topped pizza by the end of the week!

img_7697At the end of November, my Sixth Form held a Winter Ball to celebrate the end of the first term. I had a great time partying with my friends and ate an unhealthy amount of mozzarella sticks, but the best thing was the fact that we had an inset day the next day, so I could have a lie in! Yeah, dancing is fun, but my bed will always have my heart…

So, that’s everything I did in 2018… and the end of Blogmas! I’ve really enjoyed writing this series, and hope you enjoyed reading it. If you did, give this post a like and let me know in the comments what the best thing you’ve done this year is. If you’ve been here for all of the 12 days, thank you so much for sticking with me! To be honest, I can’t believe I actually managed to do it! I hope you all have a wonderful, merry Christmas, and I’ll see you again in the New Year!

Lots of love,

Hannah Beth xx

Basically our English year 11 is equivalent to American grade 10… at the end of that year you take GCSEs and then start sixth form/college for 2 years, so I’m currently in year 12 (lower sixth) and next year it’ll be year 13 (upper sixth) and then university! It’s hella confusing how it differs between countries! 😂 glad you enjoyed the post ❤️
